Axelle Brodiez-Dolino

Axelle Brodiez-Dolino is a researcher at CNRS-LARHRA, Laboratoire de Recherche Historique Rhône-Alpes. She specializies in the history of charities and humanitarian organizations in the second XXth century France. She works more broadly on policies against poverty and insecurity, social work, and the evolutions of militantism and engagment.

She is the Deputy Director of the French review Le Mouvement social (international distribution).

She published Combattre la pauvreté. Vulnérabilités sociales et sanitaires de 1880 à nos jours (CNRS Editions, 2013), Emmaüs et l’abbé Pierre (Presses de SciencesPo, 2009), Le Secours populaire français : du communisme à l’humanitaire (Presses de SciencesPo, 2008) and is also the co-director of La protection sociale en Europe au XXe siècle (with Bruno Dumons, Presses unviersitaires de Rennes, 2014) et Vulnérabilités sanitaires et sociales. De l’histoire à la sociologie (with Isabelle von Bueltzingsloewen, Benoît Eyraud, Christian Laval et Bertrand Ravon, Presses universitaires de Rennes, 2014).
